Studio G7 opens the new exhibition season by hosting the fourth solo show of the British artist David Tremlett. After the last exhibition in 2008 in which the artist created a large wall drawing that involved and ideally united all the walls of the exhibition space, in this new project the architecture of the gallery becomes a metaphor for time.

In particular, the artist shows unpublished works on paper created between 2019 and 2021. This is precisely the period of time in which Tremlett's work changes, shifting the so-called "space of ideas" from the dimension of travel to that of study. In fact, if before the artist used to see in the world and in long distances the existence of new geometries and architectures to formalize and present in public and private spaces, the new way of traveling has put at the centre of thought and the creative process the artist's studio and the places in Europe that are familiar to him.

Following this new approach to work, the gallery will be divided into three moments, ideally the witnesses of the three years - 2019, 2020, 2021 - in which the artist had to remove his own idea of travel from the creative process.

The works on paper are the result of a reflection that draws from the past and, aware of the present, looks to the future.
