Per ogni estatico istante is the title of the exhibition by Giulia Dall’Olio and Paola De Pietri which opens Studio G7’s new season.
The project, curated by Irene Sofia Comi, displays a dialogue between two researches that, for the first time, coexist in the same space, alternating in time and form.
As Comi underlines, the element shared by the two artists’ research – the two, coming from different generations – is that of the interaction between human beings and landscape and it actually comes from distinct premises, then resulting in different individual outcomes. On the one hand, Giulia Dall’Olio presents new artworks made by charcoal on paper, where nature overcomes the work’s boundaries, resulting in a site-specific. On the other, Paola De Pietri describes, through a series of black and white photographs, the plain of the Po River, the countryside she has always known and perceived, through trees and houses, interpreting it as if it were a fragment of a wider discourse whose meaning went lost over time. In addition, the exhibition shows how the temporal factor, apparently hidden, is a fundamental presence in each research: from one side, a long wander synthetized in an instant; on the other side, a slow and detailed creation process with charcoal, which investigates a mnemonic sedimentation, rapidly deleted by a gesture.
