Studio G7 opens Try, Marilisa Cosello’s first solo exhibition hosted by the gallery. The project, curated by Luca Panaro, illustrates the work Try, a new itinerant project started in 2020. Try perfectly recalls all the themes that belong to the artist’s research, such as feminism, the society and its structure, power and the Body used as a narrative tool.

Try is developed in several moments, expressed through different media as performance, photography, video. Every performance stages an Olympic discipline, decontextualizing the sport performed. By relocating sports practice from

its ordinary setting and customizing the athletes' uniforms, the artist uses action to reflect on the condition of society, in a permanent state of spectacle. By involving professional athletes, schools, sports clubs, local communities, Cosello creates a narrative that becomes a collective and participatory story.

Performing several actions, the artist reinterprets the Olympic Games, a perfect metaphor of collectivism; at the same time, she enters the Sport dimension, ambivalent in its nature, suspended between freedom and control; she invites the viewer to question about themes such as the individual identity and the unbalances in our contemporary society.

At Galleria G7, Cosello presents Try #5, fifth performance that will take place Saturday 12 February at 3 pm and at 4 pm.

Then the gallery space will change, creating an exhibition with different media that investigate individual and collective dynamics, combining historic-artistic references, archetypal images, historical memories and topics related to women identity.

A special thanks goes to the athlete Giorgia Bordignon and SIDEA for the collaboration.
